SIR – Denis MacShane (Comment, May 13) is right to say that the BNP must not prosper from this scandal of MPs' expenses. That is why in everything I have written or said about denying the three major parties support in the European elections, I have emphasised that votes should not be transferred to the BNP.
As those who observe the BNP know, it has some nasty racist aspects. No doubt Dr MacShane was concerned at how quickly it jumped on to Gordon Brown's "British jobs for British workers" bandwagon.
It is also (as those who read its 2005 manifesto will know), an old-fashioned socialist party with an economic policy akin to Old Labour's.
I do not advise electors to vote against Conservative candidates by supporting such a party. My advice is simply not to vote for any of the three main parties.

SIR – Before anyone takes up the advice that Lord Tebbit has given on radio, not to vote in the European elections for the three main parties, perhaps we should be shown the expenses claimed by MEPs of the minor parties represented at Brussels.Two people elected as Ukip MEPs last time have been indicted for fraud.
Why should a vote for their party serve better than a vote for the major parties? We should boycott the EU elections, since the whole EU system is corrupt.

What everyone seems to overlook is that all the ferago in Westminster is based on the pretence that a great discovery of fiddled expenses has taken place!
Well no actually - increasingly the callibre of MPs has steadily fallen and you may recal in 1971 it was decided NOT to grant a payrise and a system of 'Secondary Allowances' was introduced to make up the shortfall on the costs of being an MP over and above their salaries.
Salaries from the early 1970s have steadily risen to a current £63,000 but with an income package of around £140,000 - this leaves the MP with the task of finding about £80,000 worth of 'paper' to make the claims - easie peasie for an office in the Constituency, a secretary, even an agent, a secretary in London, a researcher - then it starts to get difficult finding enough paper to draw the rest of their agreed entitlement (Secondary Allowances).
It is pure hypocracy on the part of Brown and Cameron etc. to be giving it large on this issue as raddled whores in defence of their self proclaimed virginity. Every Westminster watcher, politician, informed hack or commentator of competence has realised this has been the method of payment for years - it was only the politicians too stupid to realise it was an accident waiting to happen.
Why on earth does anyone think that the Government, supported by virtually the whole house, has been fighting tooth and nail to prevent the efforts to make Parliament subject to FOI. They have not only voted against it but defended against it in every Court and by every ruse available.
In fact Parliament has really not understood the 'prurient' interest of the media, since they knew the media had understood the system since its inception - it seemed a breech of 'Queensbury Rules' or some such, so much so that in the final appeal the Government tried to get Heather Brooks and her legal team to cut their costs claim on the grounds that they should not have spent so much as they should have known the Government case was very weak!!!
The upside of this debacle is that it has exposed a deeply flawed system - it has shown that even for +-£140K pa each you really do get a prety seedy 650 people to lead the life of an MP! The system wil have to change and clearly will but that the changes have been forced on Parliament by journalistic hype and exposure of the crass standard of MP has deeply undermined our belief (false) in the sham that is what is left of the greatest democracy this planet had ever seen, now that Westminster has become an irrelevance and our Governance has corruptly and dishonestly been moved to Brusells and has been stripped of any meaningful concept of democracy and functions dishonestly without understanding of 'Demos'.
The great downside is that the perfectly accepted practice for claiming 'Secondary Allowances' has required 'paper' to be passed by the payments office to a given value per MP. Apart from a very few outright acts of fraud the MPs have complied with the due process.
The greatest downside is the the norm in our Westminster Parliament -
(useless as they are, as they merely rubber stamp EU diktat into Law - with 85% of all law IMPOSED by the EU. IMPOSED under Section 2 Article II ECA; where it is the duty and responsibility of The Minister Concerned to enact, into British Law, the diktats of The EU, if need be without debate, by either Statutary Instrument or Order in Council - hence more law is enacted during Parliamentary recess than whilstParliament sits!)
- that norm is what has been exposed to great profit by the media as a revelation of substance - which it is not, it is merely the METHOD of payment since 1971 and put into practice in 1972.
The tragedy is that it stands every probability of pushing ill informed and duped voters in the position of being pushed into the arms of the smaller parties who have not featured in this non event.
Just as EUkip has raised awareness, it would claim, of the EU whilst in fact pandering to a childish streak in British nature of supporting the naughty boy in the class, we have had EUkip MEPs achieving the sum total of zap all beyond attracting attention be it boys behaving badly in bars and brothels or dressed in chicken suits there is some childish belief that standing up in what perports to be a serious situation and thumbing ones nose at the 'High Table' and being gratuitously rude.
How long before Gordon ramsay is proclaimed a supporter and his stunted command of esturian language is aplauded by a EUkip with a cheekie chappie leader like the odious Jonathan Ross - Oh I forgot they have: they have Farage, Nuttall, Denny, Croucher, Nattrass and their ilk!
Yes the tragedy is that just as EUkip has raised the profile in a narrow spectrum they have acted as the recruiting sargeant for the BNP having failed to understand management, marketing, vision or leadership. Yet due to a failure to 'bite the bullet' by Westminster and explain that if we were to have MPs of ANY competence the income package would have to be around £140,000 pa.
This failure of Westminster is driving the voters into the arms of the unaccountable individuals of the smaller parties in The EU elections - Parties without skill, without vision, without expertise and without competence will be elected as MEPs where they will have less democratic input to law than ever in modern history in even a pretend democracy! MEPs who will be on an income package approaching £250,000 pa each to do NOTHING of value as EUkip has shown!
The basic clear fiddles of an MP amount to around £20K max without criminality and can be considered allowable/acceptable whilst the most average of MEPs, and boy they are very average, they can expect to cream off £1,000,000 each in their 5 year stint, over and above their true costs.

TO LEAVE THE EU
What is the exit and survival plan for these United Kingdoms to maximise on the many benefits of leaving The EU. It is the DUTY of our Politicians and Snivil Cervants to ensure the continuity, liberty and right to self determination of our peoples they have a DUTY to protect against crime and secure both our food and our border.
NONE of these DUTIES has a single British politician upheld for 40 years. They have drawn their incomes fraudulently and dishonesty.
Politicians are failing to tell the truth, but so are almost all wanabe Politicians, the MSM and Snivil Cervants.
The fact is that even if EVERY British MEP wanted change in The EU it would achieve NOTHING.
Every single British Politician, of EVERY Party, elected since before we joined the EUropean Common Market, has promised to change The EU's CAP - In 40 Years they have achieved absolutely NOTHING!
To try to put a value on OUR Freedom is as futile as floccipaucinihilipilification and as odious as the metissage of our societies, as we rummage in the ashes of our ancestors dreams, sacrifices and achievements, the flotsam of our hopes and the jetsam of our lives, consider the Country and Anglosphere which we leave our children and the future, with shame!

I SUGGEST – since there is clearly no political party of repute, advocating or campaigning for withdrawal of these United Kingdoms from the EU and restoration of our independent sovereign, democracy, with Justice & the right to self determination in a free country. Deny the self seeking & meaningless wanabe MEPs the Mythical Mandate for which they clamour. Diktat is imposed from The EU but Law should be made at Westminster, for our Country & our Peoples.
