What trash it is our misfortune to deal with from time to time in life - pure filth like Mark Croucher, Douglas Denny, Michael McGough, Paul Nuttal, David Bannerman and their ilk - yet the wheedling and the weak provide them with succour and support and then come running for help!

Butcher really is a contemptible little worm isn't he - perfectly happy with his grubby little friend Brendan Padmore to aid and assist the likes of those mentioned and provide a platform for their dishonest inuendos and outright lies and then engineer a dishonest manipulation of the truth to duplicitously manouver to suit their little chums and aid the corruption that is EUkip to assist Farage in bullying his way into re-election at the expense of Britain - yet they are worried about spam!!

UKIP - the next 6 months

As I noted last time Animal Farm details UKIP's progress.
Click on the link below for an excellent summary of the book. I will not insult your intelligence by identifying the UKIP characters and plots involved in Animal Farm

In the New Year we shall have the new party constitution to approve. The guiding principle will be Nigel is always right. Approval is certain. The voting system will ensure the right result.

Mass expulsions from the party of the less equal members will then ensue.

Those expelled will be accused of supporting the BNP along the lines currently pedalled by the anonymous cowardly Common Man. David Abbott and I however stand ready to sue anyone who puts their real name to his, or is it her, pack of lies.

Candidates for the next round of NEC elections will be carefully vetted. Disciplinary charges will be brought against candidates likely to ask questions on the NEC so debarring them from standing.

All previous UKIP failures will be blamed on those expelled. I remember NF at the NEC blaming the UKIP disaster in the Henley by-election on the failure of South West activists to work in Henley! David, Del and I burst out laughing at this ridiculous remark saying "..but Nigel, Henley is in the South East region not the South West. The South East is your region where were your activists?". Ms Duffy took great exception to our daring to laugh at the great leader but when he makes such ludicrous remarks it is difficult to keep a straight face.

Activists will be demoralised by these expulsions and NEC manipulation. The media will be concentrating on Ganley and he will get huge coverage. UKIP will be squeezed between Ganley in the South and the BNP in the North. Ganley is the bigger threat. It is going to be very difficult so why make it harder by purging some of our best people and wasting time and goodwill on pointless constitutional changes? Blaming BNP infiltrators is untrue, stupid, and reeks of Animal Farm.

I dread what will happen to UKIP in June. Failure however will still be blamed on those expelled and any success will be because of NF. Believe it if you like.

Dr. Edmond may well believe that Declan Ganley's Libertas will be a threat to UKIP - personally I do NOT agree as I do not believe that Declan Ganley has shown the very slightest signs of competence to date and a staggering level of political naiivite.

At this stage CONSIDER:

The EU elections are in just over 6 months - when is Ganley's UK launch?
Who is their UK organiser?
How is their candidate selection going?
Where does one contact them to help OR hinder?
What is their manifesto or is it just being drawn up at moment - Oh not democratic then!
They have about 2 to 2.1/2 months for everything to be well in place with no room for glitches and all their staff and candidates in place AND TRAINED - printing all proof read and ready to roll.

I do not believe that this degree of amateurism and political inconsequentiality would be any threat to UKIP - but silly me - I forgot Farage and the corrupt leadership crew of the party has destroyed UKIP and imposed, through drunken mismanagement, lies and cheating withing the inner circle, dishonesty of people like Marta Andreassen, Nigel Farage, Paul Nuttall, David Bannerman, Michael McGough, Andrew Smith and their ilk and clearly EUkip has done half of Declan Ganley's job for him in defeating UKIP - EUkip is an ever increasingly easy target for Libertas!

Clearly one can understand all too well why Declan has little to worry about from EUkip - for the very same reason that Farage and his corrupt leadership have acted as recruiting sargeants for the BNP now they will greatly aid their own demise, by their own behaviour, driving the few remaining UKIP members into the arms of Libertas.

It seems unfair not to mention our MEP's appearances at the NEC. The permanent member is Derek Clark

who was elected along with, or because, of Kilroy in the East Midlands in 2004.

Mr Clark is even now rewriting the UKIP constitution to make it easier for the ruling cabal, via unelected Chairman Nuttall, to expel those UKIP members who fall out of favour with the great leader. The infamous hit list will of course come first.

This masterpiece of constitutional drafting will be put to the members for approval in the January edition of Independence News. It will be supported by some one sided articles pointing out how this will enable the party to function more 'efficiently' by making it easier for the ruling cabal to get rid of any party members who disagree with NF.

Who needs democracy?

It is demonstrably inefficient.

Political elitism as practised in the EU is a clearly superior system.

The whole business will be eerily similar to Wilson's 1975 referendum on staying in the Common Market. A one sided series of presentations with a few BNP scare stories included for added spice. Voting slips will be included with the News and a rapid response requested.
There will be no debate.
I can confidently predict the ensuing ballot will not be handled by the Electoral Reform Society or any other independent agency.

Mr Clark opposes using the ERS. The ballot will be done in-house. It is the EUkip way.

I first crossed swords with Mr Clark at the NEC this summer.

The House of Lords committee considering the Lisbon Treaty had earlier requested submissions from interested parties on the Treaty. Our excellent branch chairman Ken Perry noticed this and requested all the Yeovil branch committee make our case to the Lords. This we all did and about two months later a large red backed book came through our letter boxes giving the minutes of the committee plus a list of all these who had submitted evidence and views. All the Yeovil committee were named in it. Many other MEP's had submitted evidence and were named including a number from outside the UK. Not one UKIP MEP however had submitted anything.

I produced this report at an NEC meeting and asked Mr Clark to explain why neither he nor any of his colleagues had submitted their views to this important committee. Mr Clark stated he had not known about it, that we should have told him and anyway he had been very busy with his EU committee work at the time. I made three points to Mr Clark:

The only organisation that could get us out of the EU is the UK Parliament of which the Lords is part.

The EU committees he regarded as so important could not, and would never, take us out of the EU.

He has a large research budget and has a number of full time, paid, research assistants. MEP's from other parties including non-UK parties knew about this committee. Why did he not know?

Finally, he had been elected as a UKIP MEP to get us out of the EU not to sit on their committees and thus lend democratic legitimacy to the EU.

Mr Clark fulminated, huffed and puffed and blamed me as is the EUkip way. (I should say that Lord Pearson did submit evidence as did Torquil Dick Erikson who lives in Rome but obviously they had not informed Mr Clark either.) Mr Clark further excelled himself at the infamous Nov 3rd meeting. He became very angry shouting that the East Midlands was 'his seat'. At the same meeting,

Mr Bloom also became over-excited and hysterical.

Mr Clark it was who supported the EU core idea of subsidiarity at the infamous Rumania meeting of the IndDem group. People like Mr Clark and Mr Nuttall are extremely useful to NF. The great leader gets his way. Nothing links directly to him. It can be denied if anything backfires. It is therefore distressing to hear rumours that neither Mr Clark or Mr Nuttall may win MEP seats in 2009. This sadly may have to be accepted as a price worth paying.

Mr Clark is a reminder of how UKIP MEP's exposed to EU temptations and flattery can go native and forget why they were elected in the first place. He is not the only one. He seems to exhibit many symptoms of the EU contagion. There is unfortunately no known cure for this condition. The only known way to avoid contracting it is not to take the EU's Euro in the first place. As St Paul, a citizen of Rome said, the love of money is the root of all evil.

Animal Farm, George Orwell's satire on communism, gives an excellent account of pigs going native. It details how EUkip has developed and predicts where EUkip is going. It is well worth a read. The main players in EUkip are readily identifiable. Ask yourself, does the overnight re-writing of the Farm rules on the Barn Wall ring a bell?

Dr. Eric Edmond is an elected member of EUkip's NEC, who has been engineered out of the NEC, because he asked various embarrassing questions - not least of which was to ascertain where certain large sums of money had gone and what the exact financial liabilities of EUkip NEC members is!

The trumped up grounds on which Dr. Edmond was defamed were baseless lies and dishonesty of David Bannerman who has been shown of no value or ability in EUkip and who has brought the party into disrepute with his proven lies and serial dishonesty.

Currently David Bannerman has taken the EU's 30 EUros and has sold out for a personal income. David Bannerman is a dishonest, corrupt, untrustworthy and self seeking little man bringing nothing but dishonour and disgrace to EUkip.

When you consider the manner in which Farage has brought energy and hangovers to EUkip we can now see the staggering level of hypocracy in mounting appauling attacks on elected members of his own NEC behaving with his puppets as a thug & a bully.

He has been noted to collude with the thugs and bullies on his NEC in accusing people of mental illness. I believe many who watch this utterly dishonest little video will note his destruction of UKIP for personal gain & shudder at the similarity the EU has in methods as exposed by Farage and his personal example to those dictatorial and obscene powers he has seized - undemocratically - withing EUkip to ensure his absolute authority.

Ammending The Constitution with utter disregard for Democracy through lies and distortions pretending his own BNP style is forced on him by the few decent elected and educated members of The NEC. Every individual who has ever questioned Farage, as they were elected so to do, has been engineered off of THe NEC.

To question Farage or his puppets as to where huge amounts of money has vanished is to ensure your early departure elected or not - replaced by Farage's bully boys feeding from the troughs.

To hear the likes of Duffy, NuttAll, Oxley, Zucherman, Denny and the rest of the pond sweepings in Farage's cabal baying in unison whether childishly chanting BNP, BNP, BNP at their guest; or taunting Del Young because they have engineered him into isolation; or braying like asses at Dr. Eric Edmond in implication this retired economist & senior executive of The Bank of England is in some way untrustworthy and should not acquit his duty to UKIP electorate and ask about money!

Farage has, as I predicted 10 years ago, proved to be a failure and a disgrace as leader and has virtually ensured the collapse of The Party gathering such low lifes as Croucher, Denny, NuttAll and their ilk around him with their only lies, dishonesty, duplicity and defamation with which to try to shelter their corruption.

Peter Cole, UKIP Branch Chairman, writes to the Eastern Region Committee

I spotted this article on Junius' Blog and felt it deserved a wider audience.

George Curtis, Chairman of the Eastern Region, has gone on record as stating that “the actions of Peter Cole ( pictured above) suggested he was out to destroy the Party”. Mike McGough, the man who lied in his MEP election address, has also made a similar allegation on the British Democracy Forum. Is there any truth to this?

Here are extracts from Mr Cole's letter to Curtis and the other members of the Committee:
“Below I list just some of the things I have been doing of late, if this proves that I am out to damage the Party then I must be told to my face and I will withdraw my membership.

1. I have designed, printed and delivered in two Dunstable wards UKIP leaflets; I am presently designing a booklet which will also be delivered. Unfortunately having asked Peter Reeve to give me samples of his leaflets and his stating “will do” I still await some 7 months later, hence my own designing.

2. I have recently taken the chair, by request from members I might add, of two UKIP branches, Fenland, and more recently South West Beds, in both cases to keep them alive.

3. I asked for and received application forms to sit on the NEC but the way I am being treated by both the Regional Organiser and the Eastern Counties Committee I have decided not to apply.

4. This year at the Fenland Branch we have organised functions for:
a) St. Georges Day Dinner;
b) UKIP Fenland Branch ‘FUN DAY’; both Reeve and Curtis really upset Len Baynes by telling him that he had to have their permission to accept donations from Tom Wise.
C) Trafalgar Day Dinner and the forthcoming;
d) Christmas Dinner, a few places left;
e) UKIP involvement in having Christmas Lights in the village of Doddington where I have been honoured with the task of switching them on December 5th at 5pm (ALL WELCOME, PLEASE WEAR YOUR ROSETTES). All these events make money for UKIP and encourage new membership.

5. I have for the past two years held a Garden Party and B.B.Q. At my own property, completely at my own expense to raise money for UKIP.

6. I have attended and spent the whole afternoon as ‘Chef’ at a B.B.Q. At a Mid-Beds Branch meeting, this entailed taking tables and chairs and my cooking unit to the site, again all at my own expense.

7. I have stood as a UKIP candidate at the last two local elections and although I was not elected have caused quite a stir in the local ward.

8. I organised, had printed, delivered 8,000 cards asking for a vote if our local council should change to fortnightly bin collection, I received 3,075 replies, 3,069 against the change and only 6 thinking it was a good idea, these cards were then delivered to the local council offices and were handed over in front of two local papers and I was interviewed on two local Radio stations on the subject.

9. I spent a total of 15 nights away from my wife and my home comforts when I was driving the ‘REFERENDUM BATTLE BUS’ around the South Coast and South Wales. During these tours hundreds of signatures were gathered and a number of new UKIP members. Incidentally Peter Reeve refused to organise anything in the Eastern Counties because Tom Wise had organised the bus to be brought from Brussels. It should be noted that it was the Ind/Dem’s money that was used to finance this, not Tom’s. It should also be noted that when I took the bus to London Nigel Farage was only too keen to speak from the top of it as he did when I took the bus to Brighton to support the court case against Gordon Brown.

10. I get invited to many Branch meetings to speak. One of those meetings was at Fenland when Peter Reeve was also invited to attend; this is where he really cooked his books with the membership, when he refused to sit at the same top table where I was sitting because he stated that I work for Tom Wise!! How very childish, the membership went ballistic; I consider this was the start of the members insisting that Peter Reeve must be deselected as their PPC.

11. I have, at the request of members, at Branch meetings, organised a motion of no confidence in Peter Reeve as Regional Organiser, perhaps by now you are beginning to realise why. At the only South West Bedfordshire Branch meeting he has attended in 21 months as R.O. He actually stated and I quote from the minutes taken by the Branch Secretary “Peter Reeve stated that he was not concerned about our Branch, Jackie Cole told him he should be concerned”. This was the first time in over a year that Jackie, an ex-teacher, has spoken at a Branch meeting, she was very angry! Jackie has since refused to renew her membership as have several others.

12. I was also invited to sit on a ‘Question Time Panel’ as a UKIP representative alongside Patrick Hall a Labour MP, and PPC’s from the Greens, Tories, and Lib/Dems, I have also been invited to sit on another panel in April ’09.

13. I was invited to lay a wreath at Bedford on behalf of UKIP in November ’07 where I was very proud to be able to wear my late Father’s medals; he served in both the 1st and 2nd world wars.

I will now explain why the Motions of no confidence in the Eastern Counties Committee were voted on by the membership.

A. It is considered that that the Eastern Counties Committee is unlawful for the following reasons – 4.1 of the Regional Committee Rules dated 4th February 2008, states - The Term of regional committees shall be 5 years, with each committee normally elected two years before each euro-election. – This did not happen, therefore by UKIP’s own rules, the committee is unlawful! That in turn makes every decision taken since June 2007 unlawful.

B. This also includes the selection of MEP candidates, and what a shambles that was, and still is in my opinion. How on earth a girl of 19, still at school, can be better suited to stand than a man with the political experience of Christopher Hudson is beyond comprehension!

C. Lastly, the lies spoken by both George Curtis and Andrew Smith at committee meetings are disgraceful and without reason, when I ask for an apology from Mr Curtis all I get is “Please could you inform as to where and when I am supposed to have made such a statement?” – My reply “At your last meeting” – I have repeated my request for an apology but I have not received that courtesy.

I was under the impression that the ECC is there for the benefit of the members and therefore I see no reason why minutes are kept secret, well that is until someone passes me a copy, and that would open a few eyes if you knew my source!

On Monday 24th November 2008 I managed to talk an Eastern Counties Branch Chairman from holding a branch meeting until after our meeting with the Party Chairman, the membership are so disillusioned with UKIP and in particular Peter Reeve that they want to close the branch; this has now been put on hold.

Do I really sound as though I am anti-UKIP? My assumption is that certain people do not want me at a meeting, or indeed want me to answer a letter I might receive from the committee for fear of being made to look fools!

I spent 37 years of my life running my own businesses, retiring when I could not happily continue under EU laws, I have since then devoted my time to helping UKIP, but it appears, because I work for Tom Wise 9 to 5 Monday to Friday ONLY, the only thanks I get is to be kicked in the teeth”.

Is this really a man out to destroy UKIP?

Can Mr Curtis say he has done as much for UKIP? After all, the vast majority of UKIPPERS in the East don’t even know that he is the Chairman of the Regional Committee. And those that have heard of Mr Curtis generally regard him as a bumbling Colonel Blimp figure without a single original idea in his head.

Mike McGough is no better. In the May elections he only got 1% of the vote. This was largely due to his lacklustre campaign and his inability to inspire even his own supporters. To make matters worse he then went on to lie in his MEP address. Even Piers Merchant’s report on the selection process criticised him for this. Despite this he is still allowed to remain on the list. He also continues to make a fool of himself on the British Democracy Forum but seems oblivious to this.
When I think of Mr Curtis and Mr McGough the words fools and hypocrites come to mind.

thanks for your latest coverage of the issue on your blog.

My pleasure - I have no need to hide my comments and note the number of threads you have permitted dishonestly attacking me on your Forum and your personal dishonesty in providing a platform uncensored for liars and proven liars to publish libels and lies about me.

It's good to see that rather than send it to me by email you would rather plaster my private
email to you on your blog with a lengthy response and wait for me to find
out from someone else. Nice.

If you wish to be made aware of what I have said on my blog why not put it on RSS to your Forum! It would at least balance the EUkip propaganda, bullying and double posting.

Indeed I would as you have proved biased, dishonest and corrupt - why might I wish to discuss ANYTHING with you in private to later report dishonestly. As happens on your Forum, aided by you.

However, I would like to make a point that you said "I stated ACCURATELY

Which I did and stand by - though it will be noted in a dishonourable act you have the advantage of being able to quote my exact words but have prevented me from access to even read my own comments on your Forum - having blocked access.

What you actually said was:

So do you see that as different materially - though I grant you that you have the advantage of a crib sheet, which you have denied me.

Low level common assault is entirely different from using his fists in an

You will note that is exactly why I called it 'Common Assault' NOT 'assault'.

Which is precisely why when I realised that people were misinterpreting my comment I added further detail to ensure they realised the meaning of 'Common Assault' in this context.

Not only that, but you never mentioned 'low level' - that is a
qualifier you have added since.

I note you confirm my statement! As does the record to which YOU have access but I do not!

Also, he wasn't, it would appear, under investigation at all because John West hadn't been to his local police station at that point.

When I reported the incident I was 100% correct. That you differentiate between the initial report commencing the enquiry and the subsequent visit to a LOCAL police station to make a statement is PURE WEASLE WORDING.

Tom Wise's researcher has a good point and reminds us all that as Farage was The co Chairman of the Ind.Dem.Group with Bonde until he moved on - thus surely they are BOTH under investigation by OLAF on this issue and as the remaining co Chairman Farage seemingly aware that the money is still being syphoned off - perhaps he is digging an even deeper hole, for himself and EUkip!

Perhaps Farage is keeping the door open to jump ship to Libertas, using Ind.Dem.Group money as his Life Line when EUkip collapses in June, as increasingly seems likely.

Is UKIP funding its own opposition?

UKIP members will have been bitterly disappointed to learn that Libertas will be fielding candidates in the UK in next year's Euro elections. With the party struggling electorally, and being regularly beaten by the far-right BNP, morale in the branches is at its lowest point.

A high profile, well funded, alternative slate of candidates is the last thing that UKIP needs. Today Declan Ganley, president of Libertas, and Jens Peter Bonde, president of the pan-European EU Democrats (EUD), issued a joint statement concerning the possibility of a second referendum on the Lisbon Treaty in Ireland.

It is this alliance that should raise serious questions as to exactly what is going on.

With a number of EUD officials being employed as members of the Independence & Democracy group, of which UKIP is the largest delegation, we need to ask if UKIP is, indirectly, funding its own opponents:
each IND DEM UKIP MEP contributes directly to Ind Dem funds.

During a recent visit to the European Parliament, Mr Ganley was attended to by a number of officials from Ind Dem, and the EUD.

Bonde was, of course, until recently the co-President of Ind Dem The European Parliament is known to have launched an investigation into this misuse of Parliament staff, and not for the first time: Bonde was previously investigated following revelations that his wife's news agency, EU observer, was employing staff on contracts supplied by Ind Dem.

These were taxpayer funded staff that should have been working for MEPs, not for a private company.

During a lunch with Ganley, Nigel Farage made a strong statement about the credibility of the eurosceptic movement, singling out the Anti-Maastricht Alliance, saying that it was time for something new.

This was seen by many as a prelude to a shift in position away from withdrawal, possibly in concert with Ganley.

Following the Libertas announcement, however, Farage was highly critical of that party, dismissing them as campaigners that are "against the Lisbon Treaty as long as the Irish are".

Where does UKIP stand now?

The party leader has elevated contrarianism to new heights by seemingly distancing himself from both the old and new eurosceptic movements. If there is a repositioning away from unconditional withdrawal, then he will also distance himself from his own membership.

EUkip has absolutely no defence against the charge that, by totally failing to actively campaign in Britain against The New Constitution Lisbon Treaty, they have left the door open for this mid range, mid ground Tory styled pro EU Reform Party to steal their ground, steal their clothes and leave them naked and unprepared.

The Abject Failure of EUkip to provide a strong message showing the benefits of leaving The EU, they have diluted their own message - joined the pro EU Reformist Ind.Dem.Group, which is now actively funding EUkip's own opposition!

The staggering failure of EUkip to hold to their message and capitalise on their achievements leaves them in the embarrassing position that with 12 elected MEPs EUkip has managed to get less positive, good publicity since 2004 than Declan Ganley has managed this week so far!

EUkip's achoievements since 2004 have been one long self inflicted wound - greatly exacerbated since Farage stole the leadership in a corrupt and sordid mock election.

But when will Brussels have pride and trust in the citizens of Europe ?

Because until they have trust in the citizens of Europe, logically those citizens cannot have trust in them. In the past few days, in the statements and actions of the combined defeated Yes side in both Dublin and Brussels, it is becoming clear to me that it is the determined intention of the unelected, unaccountable Brussels elite and the servile yes men that seek their favour, while failing to fulfill their solemn duty to their own electorates, to categorically reject once again the voice of a sovereign people raised against the antidemocratic draft of the European constitution, or as they now prefer to call it, the Lisbon Treaty.

In Ireland sooner or later, and probably sooner, in a move and using tactics reminiscent of anti-democrats everywhere, there will be a second referendum designed to produce the only result acceptable to Brussels.

Their pre-referendum lying has already begun.

A second referendum for which there is no mandate in Ireland, is not democracy it in fact mocks democracy. (Perhaps we should have a new word for this Brussels phenomenon; it is “re-mockracy” in the making). We are here today from Lyon, Paris, Marseille, La Vendée and from our villages, cities and towns across France and indeed this Union of ours, I say our union, not theirs, not of the unelected, unaccountable elites but OUR European Union, the peoples, the hundreds of millions of individuals that are Europe.

This Union is OURS!

And we the people must be empowered to decide the future of Europe and our role as individuals within it.

To be empowered as an individual, one must have a voice, to have a voice one must have a vote, it is our fundamental right as Europeans to individually, NOT just collectively, but individually to choose our futures and our leaders. As I pointed out to President Sarkozy a few weeks ago : “le Traité de Lisbonne est mort”. According to its own rules, the European Union cannot now ratify this rehashed Constitution.

This, a Constitution already rejected at the ballot box by your own countrymen and women and those of the Netherlands just three short years ago.

And what has changed in those three short years, what ?

The unelected, unaccountable European elites willfully ignored the democratic will of the peoples of France and the Netherlands and now they are doing the same to Ireland. Those elites conspired to change only those elements of the Constitution which would again trigger referendums in member states.

Those elites decided that they know what's best for all of us and that we do not need to be consulted any further.And now, in Ireland, the quiet men of Brussels seek to crush the final free voice of a people who were the only citizens of Europe to have their voices heard, and most heartbreakingly they conspire and connive with the mediocre so called leaders of those people. To have those leaders betray their own people. Is this really how Brussels proposes to redress the democratic deficit at the heart of the European project?

Is this really how we Europeans will build a strong, sustainable and successful future for the European Union? Is this really how we can turn the most successful peace project of modern times into the most successful economic, democratic and social achievement of the 21st century and beyond?

Is it ?

No !

Exactly how stupid do they think we the people of Europe are?

Why do they fear the almost half a billion citizens of Europe so much? Why do they so despise the people?

Why are they not as proud of those citizens as those citizens are proud of being European?

I am so very proud of the people of Ireland for stopping the Lisbon Treaty in its tracks and for giving our fellow Europeans this opportunity to really think about where we need Europe to go, how we should embrace the future. It is clear that in order to succeed; the European Union must be built from the sovereign citizen up; not from the elite down.

If Europe is to have a new Constitution / Treaty, call it what you will, it must have the legitimacy of the support of its citizens. If it is to gain that legitimacy the citizens of Europe, all of them, must have their say. Such a Constitution / Treaty needs to be upfront and honest in what it seeks to achieve. I accept it must be ambitious, it must be Just…… it must be readable, it must speak to European hearts by showing that it regards and respects them as individuals in whatever communities, cultures, nations, or identities that they hold dear. It must provide for democracy, accountability and transparency at the heart of European governance.

Rule one of a new Fundamental Treaty/Constitution, might be that if it is more than twenty five pages, then the answer is no. Such a Treaty must then be put to the vote in referenda; right across Europe and the people will grant or withhold their approval. Their wishes will be final because it is from the people that all political power and legitimacy devolves. It is an important part of the very essence of our freedom.

If the people say no it’s back to the drawing board, Brussels doesn’t get to keep asking the same stupid question. Here we are in France, a nation whose very name derives from the meaning of freedom, of liberty. France, the eldest daughter of Europe, this great corner of the earth, through the ages. From Gaul, Brittany, Burgundy, Vendee and Normandy, the Gauls, the Franks - the French people - have always lived and breathed that spirit of liberty, of justice and of courage in the face of adversity.

France is Europe's beating heart.

And France can be the keystone to building Europe's future.It is here that Europe's future must be decided and guaranteed for its citizens, for our future generations and for the survival of our civilisation.It has been France’s role through the ages, to rise to the great challenges that faced Europe.

In 1940, a great Frenchman stood alone on a foreign soil and said No to enemies of Liberty. With his great victory, Charles de Gaulle, that noble son of France helped secure the hopes of Western Civilisation and kept a candle burning for those principles which were to underpin European culture for future generations. Principles rooted in our ancient foundations in Greek democracy, the Roman Republic and Judeo-Christian values.

The precious dignity of the individual, the rule of law, the value of hard work and sacrifice, the rejection of slavery of the body and of the mind. And, most importantly of all, the value and power of love and respect for one's fellow man.

One of many places we can look to see that respect being represented is in the democratic process, where the people are engaged in the decision making process in the most fundamental way. It is that they, the people, who are sovereign and all political power derives from them as individuals, delegated to elected representatives through the ballot box. Democracy, it’s a good idea the French people, in their wisdom, figured that out quite some time ago.

Other parts of the world can rightfully congratulate themselves on their recent preparedness to promote women into positions of power.In France a young woman from Orléans donned her armour for truth, justice, faith and France almost 600 years ago.

The truth is that France is a place where good ideas have existed and been championed for a long, long time.

Like Joan of Arc, like Charles de Gaulle, I believe that for France, and for Europe, our best days still lie ahead of us.Among those many good French ideas was the French people's courage and foresight in saying No to the European Constitution.

What the unaccountable elite in Brussels has failed to understand as they try to define Europe through ever-growing piles of directives, treaties, rules and regulations is that Treaties are only written on paper.They are not written on the hearts of men and women. That Europe, in the current Brussels variant, has failed to speak to the hearts of Europeans is clear to us all.

But the fact that this failure, if continued is highly likely to result in the overall failure of the European project needs to be shouted from the mountaintops across Europe.

The good news is that it can be saved.It can be saved by opening the windows and letting the light of democracy, transparency and accountability shine into every dark corner of the Brussels establishment. That’s the kind of Europe Schuman and Monnet would have wanted. Indeed that champion of the European Union and great Frenchman, Jean Monnet, pointed out that:
"People only accept change when they are faced with necessity, and only recognise necessity when a crisis is upon them"

With the current Brussels Elite’s denial of democracy their self imposed illegitimacy, their impotence in the face of outside threats, their contempt for the voice of the sovereign individual, the looming possibility of an economic crisis not seen for over half a century. And worst of all our failure as a civilization to make the most important investment and manifestation of all hope, having enough children, we are now reaching that crisis and change is not only necessary but inevitable.

It is inevitable because we must and will rise to these challenges, we can no longer ignore them, they will not be fixed by someone else, they must be grappled with and overcome by this generation, here and now.

In June of next year at the European Parliament elections, the people of France will have their say on the Lisbon Treaty - you have already said No, its time to say No again to the same anti-democratic formula and to demand an accountable, democratic Europe.

Next years European elections can be the referendum that the people of Europe have been denied – there can be a clear choice, candidates that support and will not stop the antidemocratic Lisbon Treaty – and those that will, doing so from a positive pro European perspective championing democratic accountability at the heart of the union. Let France lead again, say No to anti-democracy - Join with us in helping to place France at the heart of the challenge to return Europe to those to whom it really belongs : it’s almost half a billion citizens and their aspirations for their children, grandchildren and our future generations.

Let us step forward together, with courage and confidence and say Good Morning Europe, that this new century belongs to us, to the people of Europe, that once again we have what it takes to lead the world. Let’s invite the world to watch and witness a new European Renaissance, in economy, in industry, in learning, in championing the value of the individual and the liberty of mankind.

Let us take up the mantle here in France and recognize that it falls to all and every single one of us, to this generation, to wake Europe from our slumber and say as Churchill said for European democracy when its flame was almost extinguished “We will not go quietly into the night”.

For this is France and we are the people of Europe, we know where we came from we can and will define a new vision, let us fulfill that destiny, rise to the challenge, say no to the antidemocratic Brussels of the Lisbon Treaty and Yes to a democratic, transparent and accountable Europe that can lead the world to a place worth going to.
